Free wedding QR code sign maker
A wedding QR code sign is a printed card that guests scan with their phone's camera to open your photo page, so every photo from the day lands in one place. Type your names and the link below, pick one of eight designs, and download a print-ready PDF: an A5 table card for every table or an A2 sign for the entrance. It works with any link; a DropSnaps event comes with its card made.
Making the sign work on the day
- Print on card. 250 to 300 gsm card stands up in a holder; plain paper curls. Any home printer manages the A5 card; a copy shop prints the A2 sign on foam board.
- Keep the code square. Let the printer fit the page, never stretch it. The PDF already has 3 mm of bleed and a trim box, so a print shop can trim it cleanly.
- One on every table, plus the bar, the guest book and the dance floor. People scan when they pick up their phones: between courses, in the queue and when the dancing starts.
- Test it. Scan the first print with your own phone from a seat at a table. If it opens the page, every guest's phone will.
- Say what happens. The line under the code is what makes people scan: "Scan to share your photos and videos from our day" works; "Photos" on its own doesn't.
What to put in the link
The QR code is just your link, printed as a pattern, so point it somewhere guests can use without an account: a DropSnaps event (which comes with this card made, with the event's code and PIN built in), a shared album, or your wedding website's photo page. Avoid links that change, such as a shortened link you don't control or a file in a folder you might move.
Other signs
The wedding signs guide covers every other sign a wedding uses, and the free printable templates include an unplugged ceremony sign, a guest book sign and prompt cards.
Questions people ask
How do I make a QR code for wedding photos?
Create a page where guests' photos will go (a DropSnaps event gives you one in a minute), paste its link into the sign maker above, add your names and a line telling guests what to do, and download the PDF. Print it on card, put one on every table, and test it with your own phone.
Is this QR code sign maker free?
Yes. There's no sign-up and no charge, and the PDF has no watermark. The sign works with any link, not only DropSnaps.
How big should a wedding QR code be?
At least 4 cm across to scan easily from a seat at a table, and 5 or 6 cm at the bar or the entrance, where people stand further back. The A5 table card here prints the code at about 5 cm; the A2 entrance sign makes it much larger.
Does the QR code expire?
The code itself never expires: it's the link, printed as a pattern. What matters is whether the page it opens is still there, so make the sign with a link you control and keep that page live for as long as guests might scan.
What should the sign say?
Your names, the date if you like, and one line that tells guests what will happen when they scan: "Scan to share your photos and videos from our day". The wording is set to that for you; change it to suit the event.
