Moments are the labels guests put on what they share: "The ceremony", "The first dance", "The cake", "Family". They turn a wall of several hundred photos into albums you can browse, and they cost guests one tap. Here's how they work and how to set them up.

## How a guest uses them

When a guest shares a photo or a video, the page offers the moments for your kind of event and they tap one (or none). The wall then shows chips for each moment at the top: tap "First dance" and only those photos show. The Moments tab on the wall shows every moment as an album with a cover and a count.

## The moments for your event

Each kind of event starts with its own list. A wedding's includes getting ready, the ceremony, the drinks, the speeches, the first dance, the cake and the dance floor; a party's includes the cake, blowing out the candles, presents and party games; a memorial's includes memories, old photos, family and the service. You can add your own in the event's settings ("The ceilidh", "Nan's 90th", "The after-party") and remove any you won't use. Keep the list short: a dozen moments is easier for guests than thirty.

## Prompts

A moment can also be a prompt, something you ask guests to go and photograph: "A photo with the couple", "Your table", "The best dance move". Prompts show on the guest page as a short list with a count of how many have been shared, which turns the day into a gentle game. The [wedding games and photo challenges guide](https://dropsnaps.com/guides/wedding-games-and-photo-challenges) has prompt ideas, and the [photo scavenger hunt](https://dropsnaps.com/templates/wedding-photo-scavenger-hunt.pdf) is a printable version.

## Changing a photo's moment

Open the photo in your Photos tab and choose a different moment, or none. Guests choose when they share and can't change it afterwards, so a quick tidy by you is normal: a few photos of the cake always end up under "The dance floor".

## Albums afterwards

The Moments tab on the wall is the quickest way to pick out an album's worth of photos: open a moment, pick the best and download them one by one in full quality, or download everything from the Photos tab and sort from there. The guest book's spreadsheet lists each note's photos, which helps when you're matching stories to pictures.

## Tips

- Add the moments before you print the QR cards; the list guests see is the current one.
- Name moments the way guests would say them, not the way a photographer would.
- The slideshow shows everything regardless of moment; moments are for browsing and for the download.

## Questions and answers

### Do guests have to pick a moment?

No. It's one tap when they share and they can skip it. You can give any photo a moment afterwards from your Photos tab.

### Can I add my own moments?

Yes, in the event's settings: add moments in the words your guests would use and remove any you won't need. Keep the list to about a dozen so it stays quick to use.

### What's a prompt?

A moment you ask guests to go and photograph, such as "A photo with the couple" or "Your table". Prompts show on the guest page with a count of how many have been shared, which turns the day into a gentle game.
